I am a local farmer pasture feeding cattle for that Grass-Fed taste of beef. I graze my herd in the foothills of the Cascades and would love to share some of my hard work with you at the dinner table.
We pasture our cattle year round and supplement during late dry summers and winter with stored grass (hay or haylage). We utilize a simple rotational grazing system to best utilize our grass reserves and extend our grazing season late into fall. We finish our beef animals on a combination of hay, haylage & alfalfa.
For weed control, we do spray for noxious weeds and overseed new grass into our existing fields. We also utilize cattle dewormers several times a year and provide fly repellents during the summer months to reduce fly swarms.
