Santos Family Farm
Santos Family Farm is a certified organic farm on 80 acres in the heart of Oregons wine country. We grow a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We also raise both Nigerian Dwarf and Boer goats, sometimes for milk, most of the time for brush clearing. We also raise both chickens and ducks for eggs and meat. We sell our products through local farmers markets, our CSA, and to local markets and restaurants.

Rotational Grazing
Grazing, Pasture and Nutrient Management Practices
Goats spend 98% of their time in pasture except for severe weather. We have a 32×24 foot dedicated chicken barn with automatically opening and closing doors. The doors open at sunrise and close one hour after sunset. We put our ducks in a wire pen at night to protect against predators, otherwise they are free to go wherever they choose. We use rotational grazing practices and cover cropping to improve fertility. Rehabilitate old pastures as necessary. We are certified organic over our entire acreage, so we do not use any chemicals on our pasture. We provide beneficial insect habitat at our pasture borders, and our cover crop selection is with an eye towards food for our pollinators.
Environmental Conservation
We use our goats in part to eliminate the invasive species of blackberry that covers much of our forested land. We limb up trees in our forested areas to allow light and water to reach the ground. Other than this, we have no formal environmental conservation projects at this time.
