We have a 200 head beef cattle herd from which we raise and sell natural grass fed/finished beef and also manage an 850 head herd of replacement heifers. We grow and harvest our own feed for our animals. We also are certified organic through Oregon Tilth for raising animal feed and vegetables.
Cattle are 100% on pasture.
Grazing, Pasture and Nutrient Management Practices
Cattle are 100% on pasture. Replacement heifers on pasture during summer/weather permitting. We primarily use free ranging on our large grazing parcels, though we do push the herd around a bit so they graze everything more evenly. We will rotate fields on our smaller parcels to prevent overgrazing.
We plan areas for water fowl each year.
